Construction Specifications - Case Goods

Materials, Workmanship & Construction: All materials used in fabrication of case goods will be new and the best grade obtainable for their respective types. The method of construction, framing, jointing, fitting, fastening and finishing will be to the highest hospitality industry standards that conform to the specific piece of furniture’s individual requirements.

Wood: Typically we use Maple hardwoods for trim details along with Maple veneered plywood as the substrate for all vertical surfaces. We will use plywood or MDF for the substrate under high pressure laminate horizontal surfaces depending on which is best for the application. If the finish is light or clear we will use select birch for both the solids and veneered surfaces. All wood is kiln dried to a maximum of 8% moisture. Face veneers will be no less than .025” before sanding.

Finishing: All surfaces are sanded then cleaned to remove dust and loose particles before application of sanding sealer, stain and finishing. All finishes and lacquers are sprayed on for maximum coverage and color continuity. Highlights, antiquing and distressing is done by hand.

Joints: Will either be splined, mortise & tenon, dowelled or full length blocked, glued and screwed in two directions following the best practice of contract production. Additional corner blocks will be used where deemed necessary and clear drying joint “hide” glue will be used on all dowelled joints, corner blocks and where necessary for required strength.

Glides: Side mounted full extension ball bearing glides are standard with undermount self-closing glides available as an option.

Hardware: All hardware will be of contract quality and samples will be submitted to customer for approval if requested. All required cleats and attaching devices will be provided to assure the highest level of security and to facilitate installation.

Shipping: All orders are shipped blanket wrapped to eliminate wasteful cartooning and the problem of jobsite disposal. Blanket wrapping also allows more units to be loaded in a trailer thus reducing the carbon footprint of transportation and labor required to un-carton the furniture on arrival.

Construction Specifications - Upholstered Furniture

FRAME CONSTRUCTION:
-Upholstery frame 100% kiln-dried hardwood frame, glue doweled and corner blocked for all the stress points and screwed into place.
-Exposed wood frames are made from premium grade kiln dried hardwood.
-All the frames have 25 years warranty.

FOAM FOR SEAT CUSHION:
-2Lb. Minimum on the entire seat cushion on all sofa and lounge chairs.
-All the foam has passes California technical Bulletin# 117 specifications
-Cal 133 available upon request at additional cost
-Loose back and seat cushions are fiber wrapped.

SOFA SLEEPER MECHANISIM:
-Leggett & Platt classic square tubular mechanism model# 3560 or 3568.
-3 years warranty to original purchaser that the mechanism is free from defects in material and workmanship.

MATTRESS:
-Standard mattress thickness is 5” coil spring unit.
-6” coil spring mattress also available for an upgrade.

MODIFICATIONS:
-All modifications style for sofa, love seat and chair will be available without charge. For standard size only.
- Special sizing available on request with additional charge.
-Seat foam can be ordered in regular, firm or extra firm, at no extra charge.

SPRINGS:
-Standard spring is the sinuous wire 11gauge for the back and 9 gauge for the seat.
-Coil seat spring available on request with additional charge.
-All the springs’ systems have 20 years warranty.

FINISHES:
All exposed wood is sanded, sealed , stained and lacquered to match customer’s finish requirements. We will provide production finish sample for approval prior to start of finishing process.
